Micro Key Credit Card Safety
In today's world all of us carry plastic in our wallets. I would like to share a few habits to practice to insure the safety of your identity and keep you from having to deal with credit card fraud.
1. Keep your credit card/debit card numbers confidential. Only give out verbally or over the Internet to those that are legitimate. Never just lay your cards around.
2. Don't carry all your cards with you. Not only can this lead to frivolous spending but it can also lead to credit safety mishaps.
3. Examine your bill every month. Make sure all your charges are actually yours. You only have 30 days to dispute them.
4. Opt out of all credit card marketing by registering with www.optoutprescreen.com
5. Check your credit report. Over 50% of credit reports have errors. You should thoroughly review your credit report every one to two years. You may request one free personal credit report in a 12 month period. You may also contact the Central Source at www.annualcreditreport.com or by calling (877) Fact-ACT. Any errors in the report need to be submitted in writing for verification. A reply is due back to you in 30 days.
